I-Nspiring You

Where is the craziest place you have brought your hair spray? We teamed up with Peter Gray, Ragga Ragnars, Kevin Pages & Anne-Sophie Galy-Gasparrou to bring our “I-Nspiring you” campaign all the way to Fagradalsfjall Volcano in Iceland.

“Throughout this series of social media campaigns for Intelligent Beauty Global I have been able to find people that inspire me. What inspires me are people who are athletic with a different take.” - Peter Gray

We couldn’t be more inspired by Ragga and her multitude of talents. Ragga is an Icelandic actress, singer and writer. Ragga was Iceland’s best swimmer for over a decade and swam for Iceland at two Olympic games, in 2004 and 2008. After her professional athletic career she went to Los Angeles to study acting at New York Film Academy. After her studies she worked in LA as an actress for a year. Ragga is best known for her role as Queen Gunnhild in the popular TV show Vikings.

Peter Gray, Ragga Ragnars and Kevin Pages (French photographer & videographer), and Anne-Sophie Galy-Gasparrou (set designer) met up at Fagradalsfjall Volcano in Iceland. On March 19, 2021, the Fagradalsfjall volcano erupted after lying dormant for 800 years. The volcano on Iceland’s Reykjanes peninsula is still spewing lava and expanding its flow field. The eruption continues with no signs of ending.

Peter uses Bell Curve™ Curl Cream and Bell Curve™ Reviving Spray on Ragga to bring out her natural curls and texture.

“I used the curl cream to encourage Ragga’s natural curl to form and hold. The moisture in this product works to enhance and retain curl structure” - Peter Gray

Peter creates a Vikings inspired look on Ragga to embrace her inner Viking. He calls this look concatenated braids.

“I sleeked the hair on both sides of Ragga’s head back and created 3 parallel scalp braids through the top area of her head. I then used an orange silk embroidery thread, looped around the base of the section and braided out the rest of the lengths with the thread interwoven into the braid and extending beyond the braid” - Peter Gray

“Because the thread is silk, the hair is able to be concatenated up towards the scalp. Resulting in a really irregular zig zag pattern“

Liquid Green™ oil is my go-to product. I use it constantly, I use it at night for myself, my clients, and hair. It works beautifully on textured hair.” - Peter Gray

Throughout the shoot Ragga wears Icelandic wool clothing from the company she owns, M Design Iceland. Ragga’s grandmother started this business in the 90's and Ragga started working with her on designing and completely took over the company after her grandmother passed.
