Ralph has been a hairdresser for almost 42 years. He grew up in Wichita, Kansas where he attended beauty school as they called it back then. Ralph moved to Manhattan, Kansas and attended Kansas State University where he got a degree in Clothing textiles and fashion design. It was in 1990 when Ralph began his connection with Horst Rechelbacher, who opened his eyes to his vision of branding and product development with a true love and emphasis on people and the planet. Ralph opened his first Aveda Lifestyle salonspa in 1999 and added Intelligent Nutrients into the product mix when it was launched. He sold his salon in 2014 and opened The Winged Lion lifestyle store in which he continued to carry I-N as a lifestyle product until I opened Unité Atelier in the back half of the store in 2019. This put both of his worlds of design under one roof. A dream fulfilled! Being able to service guests has always been Ralph’s passion in any business he has owned. The joy it brings to help others realize their potential, and worth and the essence of beauty that lies within is the rewarding part of what can be done as artists. Other things that bring Ralph joy are his life partner, his family pets (two dogs, two cats), cooking, drawing, painting, working in the yard, working out, living a healthy lifestyle and of course being such a lively part of helping build the Intelligent-IN brand and vision for the future.
