Oh yeah and Halloween face paint.

In 2009, the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics sent 10 Halloween makeup kits to a lab to test for heavy metals, and found lead in 100% of the products tested.

They also found:

  • Chromium
  • Nickel
  • Cobalt

This year, they tested again plus other “beauty” products from the toy aisle and children’s stores. The culprit: styrene — a carcinogenic chemical sometimes used in fragrance and other ingredients.

The report is out — check the results.
