Our promise for the planet

Reduce toxic burden & Reduce reliance on crude oil. 

We choose biodegradable, biocompatible, plant-based ingredients instead of synthetic-based ingredients whenever possible to reduce the toxic burden on our bodies and the planet.

Petroleum-derived ingredients such as mineral oil, paraffin wax, DEA, and "parfum" or synthetic fragrance are widespread in personal care products. We choose plant-based alternatives to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.

We source over 225 plant ingredients from all over the world for their clinically proven benefits. And we do it as sustainably as possible to minimize our impact on the planet. 

We work with chemists with decades of experience to develop our formulas. 99% of our products are developed and produced right here in the United States. 

Sustainable packaging.

We use a packaging tool developed by leading environmental organization, BWE, which measures packaging material impact on human health, resources and ecosystems. This tool compares different materials, helping us make the best choice based upon statistical and measurable data. 

Maximizing PCR to reduce our carbon footprint.

We use 90% PCR bottles, 100% PCR shippers & paper and infinitely recyclable glass to reduces the use of fossil fuels as a raw material and reduce the number of micro plastics making their way into oceans, seas, and waterway.

1% for the Planet supporter.

We proudly donate 1% of annual sales to non-profits verified through 1% for the Planet supporting environmental solutions through their work. We are a part of one global network tackling our planet’s most pressing environmental issues. Green E® certified since 2008.

Green E® is a renewable energy program managed through the Center for Resource Solutions. I-N participates and purchases wind energy through the local utility for our Headquarters. We also gather kilowatt hours used in the manufacture of our products and purchase wind renewable energy certificates (RECs) for the energy used on our behalf by our  manufacturing partners. As of 2021, we'll begin to add our packaging production to the REC program with 100% offset goal by 2022.
