Frequently Unanswered Questions About Intelligent Nutrients Hair Care

We want to answer our consumers honestly and head-on. No question is rude – we’d like to be transparent. Keep ‘em coming on our Facebook page and we’ll answer every one.

Where’s my suds?

Our 70% Certified Organic Hair Cleanser and Certified Organic Total Body Cleanser are formulated without the suds-producing additives common to most shampoos. They aren’t necessary for cleaning, and many are found to be linked to skin irritation. We skipped the lather, not the benefits or the cleansing power.

What is Harmonically Grown, Anyway?

Harmonically Made & Harmonically Grown are terms we use at Intelligent Nutrients when materials are not available through the organic certified system, but we have verified their growing conditions and safety. We trace all materials and create fair trade.

Harmonically made draws attention to small farmers who live on their land, love their land and use the land as their sole livelihood. Farmers such as these exist all over the world. Their wealth is their land and many of them cannot even afford to buy insecticides and pesticides. Nor can they afford the enormous certification fee that agencies charge. This is not a departure from our mission, but a step forward in achieving it more fully.

Everything you put on your body should be nutritious and safe. Therefore, everything in our products are, too. That is our mission. We won’t compromise, so you don’t have to.

What is the difference between Harmonic Shampoo and the 70% Hair Cleanser?

Harmonic Shampoo was formulated to rank low on the Skin Deep database. On this ranking, a “low” is good. All of the ingredients in our Harmonic Shampoo rank 4 or lower. 70% Hair Cleanser is certified to UK Organic Standards.

Why did you use Phenoxyethanol in the Harmonic Hair Care?

Intelligent Nutrients Harmonic Shampoo and Conditioner were formulated with the Skin Deep database in mind, choosing the highest performing, plant-based ingredients which rank low on the Skin Deep Database We also sought the preservation system which ranked lowest on Skin Deep—the one with the fewest toxicity concerns, particularly versus parabens.

If a consumer determines Phenoxyethanol is unacceptable for their use, we offer the USDA Organic and the Soil Association Certified products.

Phenoxyethanol is synthetic (not plant based). It is allowed in the Whole Foods Premium Standard, which we carry on these products. It’s also within the guidelines of various cosmetic standards from around the world including the UK’s Soil Association Standard.

What makes the Harmonic Shampoo foam?

An ultra-mild, plant based surfactant system.

Why do you use denatured alcohol?

Intelligent Nutrients uses Certified Organic Bergamot Essential Oil to denature alcohol. It is a process approved by the NOP.

Is the hair care safe for pregnant women?

Yes. Our products are certified organic and are safe for use – for all women, as well as men and children.

Does the hair care make the hair grow? Or stimulate growth in people who are balding?

We make no hair regrowth/hair stimulation claims on any of our products. It is a medical claim.
